I'm a socio-cultural anthropologist whose ethnographic research uses sport to theorize race, kinship, gender, and the body. My first book project, based on my dissertation research, is an ethnographic study of the lived experiences of Black college football players. I theorize both the ways that institutional systems and quotidian spaces order, discipline, and enact violence against these Black athletes, and the kinship and care relationships they rely on to navigate their everyday lives.
