My research focuses on how displaced groups in the Mid-Atlantic and Appalachian regions accessed agency, identity, and power through their material items. I am also interested in comparative household archaeology within small landscapes, specifically how gender, race, and socioeconomic status are represented through quotidian artifacts. All of my work is done with the goal of moving towards a more decolonized archaeology, untangling colonial perspectives in both research and interpretation.
